Grant Writing
With over 15 years of grant writing experience, I can help you write a proposal that highlights your organization and funds your cause. I have researched different philanthropic government and private institutions which provide grants to individual clients and organization, and have written proposal plans that attained a 95% approval rate. Once you have received your funding, I can follow up on submitted proposals with grant reports.

Teaching
After 18+ years of teaching, I can truly say that teaching is my passion and my purpose. I am an unconventional teacher, and keep children at the core of what I do; their ideas matter, their voice is central, and their curiosity is king.

The Ithaca Care Collective
Founded by Jessica Custer-Bindel and Ana Ortiz, the Ithaca Care Collective provides tuition-free, high-quality early childhood drop-in care while offering parents meaningful respite and community connection. We are committed to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where families—especially those without access to formal childcare—can share experiences, exchange resources, and support one another as they navigate the challenges and joys of early parenthood together.
In partnership with local community centers and
city-sponsored venues, we provide childcare and offer accessible play spaces for families to meet, connect, and grow. By fostering vibrant third spaces rooted in community collaboration and childcare mutual aid, we aim to strengthen the wellbeing and resilience of families throughout Ithaca.

At the heart of our work is the spirit of ubuntu — the understanding that our humanity is bound together through care, compassion, and community. Ubuntu reminds us that every child’s growth is nurtured not only by their family but by all who surround them.
